In 10 years’ time, 40% of the top companies in North America will cease to exist. They will fail. The rate of change is accelerating at a breakneck pace, and basically what is happening is the life of a company is shorter and shorter and shorter. My children of the Millennial generation are going to have multiple, multiple careers. And because they are the smartest and best educated, they hopefully will be well-equipped to deal the pace of change.

The author of the Flat Earth Society that predicted that we would become flat because of internet interconnectedness, 10 or 15 years ago, Mr. Friedman, now predicts in his latest book that societies are going to be unable to keep up with the pace of change.
